Our Biodiversity Plan

Biodiversity encompasses all of the plants and animals, habitats and wildlife, rivers and reservoirs that are part of our living landscape. NRW’s State of Natural Resources report shows that we are losing habitats and species in Wales at an alarming rate. We need to protect these valuable, natural assets for species survival and human welfare, and to alleviate (perhaps eradicate) the effects of climate change..
The council has an obligation under section 6 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016  to prepare and publish a report setting out what we have done to comply with the duty. We are currently working on our plan for the next 3 years.
