Requiring a good training plan will ensure that all of  our councillors and staff, possess the knowledge and can gain the experience needed for our council to operate as an informed and effective team.
A new training plan will be put in place after each election and cooption to reflect the needs of the new councillors.
We will review the plan annually to keep it up to date and relevant as new courses, challenges and opportunities arise.

Our Training Plan:
All new Councillors are required to take the New Councillor Induction and Code of Conduct Training within one month of
acceptance of office. A copy of the 'Good Councillors Guide' is provided for all to read.
Further trainings are encouraged to understand the multitude of ways a council functions within the law.
