Your Council should be your first point of contact
for all your needs

Here is some of what we do:
  • Hold monthly council meetings that are available for all residents to attend in person or via Zoom
  • Set  the Precept (our annual budget, collected from your Council tax) and decide how this is to be spent
  • Meet regularly with Brecon Beacons National Park, Powys County Council and the Canal and Rivers Trust on matters affecting our community and beyond
  • Consult with BBNPA on planning applications that are in our council area
  • Provide this website to keep residents up-to-date with pertinent, local information
  • Provide 'Talybont Matters', our quarterly local newsletter
  • Maintain the playground and playing fields at Henderson Hall (which is owned by the council)
  • Monitor the Henry Vaughan Garden and Walking Trail
  • Manage the Community Orchard and Walking Trail
  • Provide and maintain noticeboards throughout the community to keep you informed
  • Maintain the bus shelters
  • Provide and maintain public benches
  • Organise regular litter picks
  • Monitor the towpath and dog waste bins
  • Work with the Police to safeguard the community
  • Work in conjunction with the highways authorities on highway improvement and traffic calming measures
  • Liaise with our County Councillor
