Talybont Community Biodiversity Challenge 2024

Thank you for your interest in the Talybont on Usk Community 2024 Biodiversity Challenge! The Challenge is now closed for this year although you are encouraged to continue to submit records over the winter period.
Results will be posted here when the data have been analysed, but suffice to say with over 700 records of 300 plus different species we have made a good start. The challenge will be run again next year and we hope you will participate again or try it for the first time.

To register for the recording for LERC -
Download the LERC Wales app on your smart phone (see the poster below) and set up an account. You will then be able to follow the links to set up an iRecord account – the gateway to joining our Talybont on Usk Community Biodiversity Activity! The site requires a good internet signal so please be patient.

This is a new resource and there are still a few bugs in the system. If you cannot access the Activities areas on your phone it is possible to join online on the computer.  Just log into the iRecord site,  click on the Activities menu and search for Talybont on Usk Community Biodiversity and join up.

You can start recording what you see from your phone LERC (Local Environmental Records Centre) app and when you join our activity your uploaded records will be automatically visible to the group.

Please be about 70% certain of records that you upload though as they will go onto the central database. The iRecord “species suggestions” button can help with this.
